Types of Resources

This is a general overview of the types of assistance available.  Please proceed to our partners for more information

College Funding

There are a variety of grant programs for students attending college or career schools.  These grants can be offered by the federal government, state governments or by educational institutions themselves.  Some examples at just the federal level are:
Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants (FSEOG), Teacher Education Assistance for Higher Education (TEACH) grants.

Insurance

Other than the subsidies available under the Affordable Care Act we are not aware of any actual grants that would pay your insurance premiums for you.  However, our partners at Grant Aid Authority do have connections to several places where you can get free and fast quotes on auto insurance and learn about short term health insurance if you need to bridge a gap in coverage.

Personal Finance

This is the category that covers the widest range of needs. Programs and offers available through our partners include personal loans, free mobile phones paid for by the government, credit cards for people who need to establish or rebuild their credit, rent to own homes, and ways to make extra income online.

Disability

Each level of government federal, state and local have assistance programs for disabled persons.  Just at the federal level program categories include:
Housing Resources for People With Disabilities
Service Animals and Emotional Support Animals
How to Get Help With Medical Bills
ABLE Savings Accounts for People With Disabilities.

Resources for Women

Women are often disadvantaged in dealing with their

needs such as finances, school, family support, and pregnancy. And the same applies with respect to business.  In addition to various government programs, there are also private grant programs for women owned businesses that actually can provide free money for qualified businesses.

Senior Citizens

Senior citizens are another group with both the usual and group specific challenges.  Given that many seniors have fixed or low incomes there are a large number of assistance programs across government and the non-profit sector specifically aimed at seniors covering everything from financial aid to home repairs to dental and

vision care.
